If you are at average risk for breast cancer, we recommend age 40.  We recommend to clarify with your physician about your breast cancer risk and at what age you should start breast screening imaging and what breast cancer screening imaging you need.

We recommend to see a physician every year for a clinical breast examination. If you have new breast issues you should contact your physician immediately.

Once a month, usually 1 week after menstrual period. You are looking for any changes including lumps, skin changes, size changes, nipple discharge.

If you notice something please let your physician know!

Mammography compresses the breast and can cause pain. If you have pain, we suggest to schedule your mammograms one week after menstrual period when the breast tissue is less tender. It is also fine to take acetaminophen an hour before your imaging.
